Christmas Memorial Service
A Christmas Memorial Service is being planned for Sunday, December 9, 2012, at 2:30 pm at the Carseland Hall. This community event is to be a time of encouragement and a time to remember our loved ones during the Christmas season.
Christmas is usually a time of much fun and laughter with family and friends. The problem is that for many of us, there is sorrow in the celebration. We remember loved ones who should be sitting at that table with us or sharing that drink with us or even playing a joke on us or us on them. Some of us have found ways to remember our loved ones who aren’t around anymore. For others of us, we may feel a little guilty that we are having a joyous Christmas and forgetting the ones who aren’t around anymore. This service will provide you that time to remember them.
The service will include a candle lighting ceremony for those present who have lost a loved one this past year. If you RSVP to Pastor Andy before December 2, we will have a candle with your loved one’s name on it. You will then be able to come up as a family or friend group to light your candle and take it back to your seat. A time of refreshments will follow. An opportunity will also be given at the service for you to remember other loved ones who have passed on.
Please RSVP to Pastor Andy at 403-934-9337 or andy.wiebe@bowriveralliance.com to ensure a personalized candle. Please let us know the name of your loved one and how many will be joining us so we can plan for enough people.
