Baptism

Picture
Baptism is a wonderful ceremony full of symbolism and great meaning.
Baptism is an outward symbol of something that has already happened inside. When you are baptized, it is as if you were buried, and rose again from the dead, like Jesus. In the process you show that you have died to your old way of living and have surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, becoming a new creation. Baptism comes after faith and repentance.

In Baptism, you declare your allegiance to Jesus Christ, and your desire to become like him, following in His footsteps.

Galatians 3:27
for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

Matthew 28:19-20

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

As the church baptizes those who have become followers of Jesus – disciples –the church continues to honor Jesus’ command.

A Baptism includes:
Ø    A special ceremony during a worship service
Ø    An opportunity for you to share your story of how you came to surrender your life to Jesus Christ.
